Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 4, 2026

1. Overview

RemoveWatermark.org ("we", "our", "the Service") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect (and don't collect) and how we handle it.

2. Images and Files

We do NOT store your images. When you upload an image for processing:

  • The image is processed entirely in server memory
  • The processed result is sent back to your browser
  • The original and processed images are immediately discarded from memory
  • No images are saved to disk, logged, cached, or backed up
  • We have no ability to access or recover your images after processing

3. Information We Collect

We may collect the following non-personal information:

  • Usage analytics: Page views, feature usage, and general traffic patterns, collected via Google Analytics 4. This sets cookies and is governed by Google's privacy policy. No image data is ever sent to it.
  • Technical data: Browser type, device type, and screen resolution for improving the Service
  • Error logs: Anonymous error reports to help us fix bugs (these never contain image data)

Separately, if you choose to fill in the optional volume access form shown after you have removed several watermarks, we store the email address and the approximate monthly volume you enter, so that we can reply to you about it. That form is entirely optional, nothing else on the Service requires it, and we do not store your IP address alongside it. We use those details only to contact you about volume access — not for a newsletter, and we do not sell or share them. Ask us and we will delete them.

4. Information We Do NOT Collect

  • Your uploaded images or any derivative of them
  • Personal identification information, unless you type it into the optional volume access form described above - we require no signup and no account
  • Payment information (the Service is free)
  • Location data beyond what is visible in standard web server logs (country-level)

5. Cookies

We use cookies for:

  • Essential cookies: Required for the Service to function
  • Analytics cookies: Set by Google Analytics 4 to understand how the Service is used

We do not run any advertising network on this site, and no advertising cookies are set.

6. Affiliate Links

Where an outbound link on this site is an affiliate link, it is visibly labelled and marked with rel="sponsored". If you click one and later buy something, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links set no cookies on this site, and whether you click one makes no difference to how the tool works or what it costs you (nothing). This is written to hold whether or not any such link is live at the moment you read it.

7. Data Security

We never store your images, so the risk of a breach affecting your image content is eliminated by design. The only personal data we hold at all is whatever you chose to type into the optional volume access form described in section 3. Our infrastructure uses HTTPS encryption for all data in transit.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

9. GDPR Compliance (EU Users)

For users in the European Union:

  • We process minimal data. The only personal data we store is what you may have entered yourself into the optional volume access form (section 3); using the tool itself requires none
  • Our legal basis for any analytics data is legitimate interest. Our legal basis for the volume access form is your consent, given by submitting it
  • You have the right to opt out of analytics and advertising cookies
  • You have the right to access, correct or delete anything you submitted through the volume access form. Email contact@removewatermark.org and we will action it. If you never used that form, we hold nothing to delete

10. CCPA Compliance (California Users)

For California residents:

  • We do not sell personal information, and never have
  • We do not collect personal information beyond basic analytics, except what you may have entered yourself into the optional volume access form (section 3)
  • You have the right to opt out of any data collection by disabling cookies, and to request deletion of anything you submitted through that form

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
